Our Mission

We believe theatre is the ultimate classroom. What better way to inspire young minds than through the art of playful storytelling?

The Little Princess is a play about responsibility, trust and respect. For each other and for our environment.

Inspired by motifs from Antoine de Saint-Exupéry's 1943 classic, we explore climate change and sustainability on an adventure in outer space.

How do we combine our passion for the environment

with our profession as storytellers?

Our journey began in a rehearsal studio at uni, with one big question:

We presented the show that was subsequently born at the Playhouse Theatre in Northampton, and later at the Camden Fringe Festival in London.

Encouraging feedback from critics and audience alike led to the next step: a touring production for primary schools, to bring the magic along with the message straight into the classrooms.

Hannes Knischewski

Actor and Tapir Lover

Hannes is an actor and director, and founder of Tapir Theatre.

Originally from Germany, he has worked as a scientist with the German Aerospace Centre to invent cleaner energy technologies for our future.

Through the twists and turns of life he came to be part of the theatre scene in London, where he starred in stage plays, immersive shows and pantomimes.

His favourite animals are tapir. He founded Tapir Theatre as a passion project, and he says:

"Our planet is changing rapidly, and we need to adapt.

Clever technology can help us with that, but first we must learn to care."
